I’m Frances Dierken, an 18-year-old student living in a suburb of Seattle. When I create a piece of art I try to showcase something people wouldn’t normally notice. I want to inspect the dusty houseplants and admire the way light falls in a clearing. Taking an ordinary object and looking at it from a different perspective, I seek to capture the quietly powerful moments that often escape our notice. I want to change the way people perceive their world. Not wishing to create arrogant pieces, I try to create pieces that are simple, minimalist and speak for themselves while still expressing a commanding scene. I shoot both digital and analog photography.
